Privacy Policy

LearnSync Lab ("we", "us") describes below how user information is handled in the iOS app "Crux" (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: information you enter when creating an account, such as your email address
• Study data: information saved through your use of the App, such as books, tasks, study records, target dates, and your study profile
• Advertising identifiers and device information: identifiers used to serve and measure ads
• Purchase information: the status of paid plans. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your credit card details
• Inquiry information: the content you send through the App's form, the email address you optionally provide so we can reply, and the app version, OS version, device model, and language setting that are attached automatically when you submit

2. How We Use Information

• Providing the App's features (saving, syncing, and displaying your data)
• Analyzing study statistics and generating AI weekly reviews
• Serving ads
• Fixing issues and improving quality
• Responding to inquiries

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Please refer to each provider's privacy policy for details on how they handle information.

• Firebase (Google LLC): authentication and database (Cloud Firestore). Study data is stored on Google's cloud servers. We also use Firebase App Check (Apple's App Attest technology) to protect the App from unauthorized use
• Google AdMob (Google LLC): ad serving. Depending on your App Tracking Transparency setting, personalized or non-personalized ads are shown
• Gemini API (Google LLC): generation of AI weekly reviews. Only statistical information such as subject names and study time is sent; no personally identifiable information such as your name or email address is transmitted
• Book databases (openBD, NDL Search, Google Books, Open Library, Hanmoto, Amazon): when you search for a book or scan its barcode to add a material, the keywords or ISBN you enter are sent to these services to retrieve bibliographic data and cover images. We do not store your queries or ISBNs on our servers (the retrieved data and cover are saved as part of your study data)

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent, except as required by law (excluding processing entrusted to the services above).

5. Data Storage and Deletion

Study data is stored in Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud). You can delete all study data or delete your account at any time from the App's settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your study data from our servers and cannot be undone.

Inquiries are stored separately from your study data, so they are not automatically removed when you delete your account. If you would like them deleted, please contact info@learnsynclab.app.

6. Use by Minors

If you are a minor, please use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian.

7. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised in response to legal changes or new features. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this page.
